Hello and welcome to the Ubisoft E3 2017 press conference recap. Not as bad as EA's but still not that great. Let's see what they had to offer this year shall we?
Kicking things off was Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle which is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, because Nintendo. Something surprising to everyone was not only the type of gameplay that the game beholds (like XCOM but kid friendly) but also that Shigeru Miyamoto was on stage! The game will be releasing on August 29th 2017.
Next up was Assassin's Creed Origins and what is funny about this is more gameplay was shown off during the Microsoft conference than during their own. They did show a half hour of footage after the conference though so there is that.
The Crew 2 is real and it is looking incredible! Coming in early 2018, The Crew 2 will include not only cars but also planes and boats along with actual track racing. Beta signups are currently available at thecrewgame.com/beta
South Park: The Fractured But Whole was shown off with a trailer along with the hopefully concrete release date of October 17th 2017.
Transference is a VR exclusive title coming in the Spring of 2018 which includes Elijah Wood. You know, the hobbit guy? Not much to go off of within the trailer but it definitely looks like something that is being made.
A new IP titled Skull and Bones will be coming in 2018. This game takes the naval combat from the Assassin's Creed games and doubles down on the idea. I for one am worried that this will be yet another For Honor but I do hope I am incorrect in stating this.
It would not be a Ubisoft conference without Just Dance. I am not going to give this game more of my time. It is Just Dance. You know what you are going to get with this.
Something out of left field, South Park Phone Destroyer is a mobile game with the gameplay of Cowboys VS Indians. Check out the trailer for more information.
Ubisoft then decided that adults needed a Skylanders game with the announcement of Starlink: Battle For Atlas. Releasing in 2018, this ship combat game will allow you to purchase real life toys that attach to your controller of choice. Ships will be digital as well for those who do not like clutter, or fun.
Steep is getting its first expansion titled Road to the Olympics and will release on December 5th 2017.
Far Cry 5 had an awesome gameplay trailer shown off and if I wasn't sold on it before, I am now.
Finally, surprising damn near everyone, Beyond Good and Evil 2 fully exists and while no real gameplay was shown off, I am thinking this is going to be something special.
And that does it for Ubisoft's E3 2017 Press Conference.
Thank you for reading and stay tuned for recaps of all of the press conferences during E3 2017.
