Hello and welcome to the PC Gaming Show E3 2017 recap. It was long, it was boring, but it did also show off some new and interesting games. Let's learn about them shall we?
The show started off with our first look at the upcoming XCOM 2 Expansion titled War of the Chosen. It will be releasing on August 29th 2017 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
Ooblets was up next but this time we got a little more information on the game than we did from the Microsoft conference. Looks like a mix between Animal Crossing and Pokemon. It is slated to release on PC and Xbox One sometime in 2018.
Based in the Mech-Warrior universe, Battletech is a turn-based tactical game and you can go to battletechgame.com to sign up for Beta access.
Mount & Blade: Bannerlord was shown off next. Enjoy that trailer.
Total War: Warhammer 2 is a game coming out. Enjoy that trailer as well.
Have you heard of Shadowverse? Well it is another digital card game. Enough said. I don't even want to put a trailer here for it. So I won't.
Doug from Intel then took the stage and bored us all to tears talking about things that no one gives a shit about. I will NOT post the video for his presentation. Look it up yourself if you feel so inclined. We have more games to talk about here.
Tunic was up next and actually looks awesome. Gameplay reminds me of The Legend of Zelda and you control a little fox. I am SOLD.
Playunknown's himself was next on stage to discuss upcoming changes to the incredibly popular Playerunknown's Battlegrounds. Climbing, vaulting, rolling, and more weather settings are in the feature pipeline (you know, features that have been in games for damn near forever at this point). A new gun along with two new maps and mod support are also coming at some point in time.
Killing Floor 2 was next up and with it came a whole slew of new content along with an announcement of a free play week on Steam starting on June 13th and a sale during the same week in case you need more Killing Floor 2 in your life after playing for free. The new content includes the Summer Sideshow that features a horrific amusement park and also the Weekly Outbreak which will include new challenges every week.
You know what you wanted? More information on Forza Motorsport 7 and Sea of Thieves. Oh wait, no you didn't. Besides, more information was shown during the Microsoft conference. Go to that recap if you want to learn more.
The Last Night (from the Microsoft conference) was next up and this time we actually got more gameplay! The game looks rad. I want this game.
YLands, yes that is the name of the game, was shown off next and looks to be a mix between a survival game and a content creation game. A game editor is built into the game itself. Check out the trailer for more information. The Alpha is available now and the game will be coming to Steam Early Access at some point.
Griftland was shown briefly and looks pretty neat. Coming late 2017, early 2018.
Lone Echo is a VR Sci-Fi game where you move by grabbing onto surfaces within the game world. The Echo Arena is a mode within the game and has a strong Ender's Game feel to it. Echo Arena will be coming free to all Oculus owners upon launch for a limited time. The game releases on July 20th 2017.
Lawbreakers, yes it is still not out yet, is a multiplayer only shooter made by Cliff Bleszinski, you know, the man behind the Gears of War franchise. Well this game actually looks pretty sick and it is a twitch shooter with emphasis on the gravitational movement within the game. The final closed beta will be coming on June 28th, with the open beta coming on June 30th and the full game finally releasing on August 8th 2017. Not only that but the game will only run you $29.99 because Cliffy B does not fuck around.
Wargroove was next up and looks to be a tactics game ala Fire Emblem or Advance Wars but with a level/game creator built in.
Middle Earth: Shadow of War was briefly shown off with a new, dialog trailer.
Finally, the last announcement for the PC Gaming Show 2017 is Age of Empires Definitive Edition. This is a complete remastering of the original game for the 20th anniversary of the franchise. It will include new zoom levels, new and improved gameplay, fully remastered visuals, Xbox live multiplayer, and a fully remastered soundtrack. The Beta will be available over at ageofempires.com
And that does it for the PC Gaming Show E3 2017 Press Conference.
Thank you for reading and stay tuned for recaps of all of the press conferences during E3 2017.
