Hello and welcome to the Microsoft E3 2017 Press Conference recap. We have a LOT to get through so let's not waste any time and get right into it.
Of course, Microsoft opened the show with the ever elusive 'Scorpio' news. Well now we know the actual name of the console along with the specs and price. I am going to pack all of the information within this note so here we go... Releasing November 7th, 2017 for $499.99, the Xbox One X (yes, it is not named Scorpio) is the world's most powerful console. Including a six teraflop GPU clocked at 1.172 GHZ, 12 GB's of GDDR5, true 4k resolution, Dolby Atmos support, an Super Sampling (for use with 1080p televisions and monitors). All current Xbox One accessories and games will work without issue on the Xbox One X. The console also includes a 16nm process, 7 billion transistors, a liquid cooled vapor chamber, and optimized power management. Not only all of that but it is also the smallest Xbox One console, even smaller than the Xbox One S.
With the console information out of the way, it is time for some GAMES! Starting with the Xbox One exclusive, Forza Motorsport 7. Releasing on October 3rd 2017, Forza 7 will be the definitive racing experience for the Xbox One X including true 4k at 60fps and with the largest roster of cars (700!), new locations, and even better weather.
Next up was something that was not expected, a new Metro game! Metro Exodus is going to be based off of the Metro 2033 and 2035 books and looks to be finally bringing the franchise into the open world genre.
Assassin's Creed Origins was shown next and actually had a good amount of stage presence. Keep in mind that this press conference was before the Ubisoft one so this is somewhat surprising as a result. Origins looks to include actual RPG style gameplay with an actual loot system as well. Weapons and other gear has ratings associated with it and you will gain levels and skill points as well. This is all wrapped up in what looks like the same style of Assassin's Creed gameplay you either love or hate. Assassin's Creed Origins releases on October 27th 2017
Next up was a major announcement that Playerunknown's Battlegrounds will be making it's console exclusive debut on Xbox One in late 2017
Microsoft then announced a new game titled Deep Rock Galactic which will include Mixer support.
Next up was State of Decay 2 which still does not have a full on release date. We did get a window though, Spring 2018.
Next up was The Darwin Project which looks to be a Battle Royal type game.
Everyone loves Minecraft right?! Well here is some news for you then and it is some good news. Cross Play will be coming to every person on every single platform that Minecraft is currently on. There will be a 4k update coming in the Fall of 2017 and the Super Duper Graphics Pack wil be coming soon.
Dragon Ball Fighter Z was shown next and this looks to be Marvel Vs Capcom on steroids. Also, it looks just like an episode of the show. Consider me hooked.
Black Desert Online is coming to Xbox One consoles as well...
How about some Blade Runner meets Sword and Sworcery with the new game of The Last Night?!
Why not The Artful Escape which is coming out when it is damn ready.
Dark Souls meets Anime in CodeVein. Releasing in 2018.
Sea of Thieves was next up on the stage showing an extended gameplay demo and will be releasing in early 2018.
Tacoma has a short trailer but did get a release date of August 2nd 2017.
A new 3D Platform was announced with Super Lucky's Tale, releasing November 7th 2017 which is also the launch date of the Xbox One X, in case you forgot.
Oh Cuphead, you finally have a release date as well. I will see you on September 29th 2017 you beautiful looking game you.
You want some Crackdown 3 news! Well you got it! Terry Crews is going to be voicing Commander Jackson and the game will be releasing on November 7th 2017. This makes on of my predictions correct.
Well we are getting near the end of this jam packed event but Microsoft thought it would be cool to drop a montage video containing 19 games!
Ashen was shown off next. Not much to go off of here, enjoy the trailer.
While not being Life is Strange 2, Life is Strange Before the Storm will be a three episode miniseries with the first episode coming August 31st 2017
How about some more Middle Earth: Shadow of War content! The game will be releasing on October 10th 2017 and it actually looks pretty damn amazing.
Coming out of nowhere, Ori and the Will of the Wisps is in development and of course it looks just as beautiful as the first.
Before the final game was shown off, Microsoft decided to drop a bomb and state that original Xbox backwards compatibility is coming to Xbox One and the first game to be included is none other than Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge. More information will be coming soon.
Last but not least, EA took the stage one last time to show off actual gameplay for Anthem. Featuring an open world, exosuits that change the way you play the game, a loot system with gear ratings, up to four player squads, and what looks to be dynamic weather and lighting; Anthem is looking to be something special from the folks over at Bioware. Anthem as a release window of 2018.
And that does it for Microsoft's E3 2017 Press Conference.
Thank you for reading and stay tuned for recaps of all of the press conferences during E3 2017.
