Hello everyone and welcome to the Microsoft E3 2016 Press Conference Recap.
Microsoft came out of the gates swinging with the announcement of the Xbox One S console. The console is 40% smaller, has a built in power supply and also includes a 4K Blu-Ray player. All for the starting price of $299.99. A 2TB version of the console will also be available for $399.99. The Xbox One S will be available starting in August 2016.
Next up was Gears of War 4, with a campaign gameplay demo. Gears 4 will be releasing on October 11th, 2016 and is also a part of the new Xbox campaign titled Xbox Play Anywhere. This initiative will allow cross buy and cross save between Xbox One and Windows 10 PC's.
Of course to go along with Gears of War 4, there is an all new Xbox One Elite Controller to coincide with the game. Check out the trailer below for more information.
Killer Instinct made a small appearance on the main stage and a new character is being added. This is none other than General RAAM from the Gears of War universe and will be able to be played for free this entire week!
Forza Horizon 3 is official and is coming September 27th, 2016 to both Xbox One and PC! Forza Horizon 3 will feature 4 player coop for the first time in the series and is set in Australia.
Recore was next up on the main stage but just with a gameplay trailer. Oh yeah, it is also releasing on September 13th, 2016.
Final Fantasy 15 made a quick appearance with the first Xbox One demo featuring a very large titan boss fight. Final Fantasy 15 releases on September 30th, 2016.
For those who are still playing The Division, the first major expansion titled Underground will be releasing first on Xbox One on June 28th, 2016.
Battlefield 1 is releasing on October 13th, 2016 first on EA Access for Xbox One.
As for Xbox Live as a whole, more servers are being added, along with some more features over the coming months. These include Background Music, Language Region Independence, Cortana, Clubs on Xbox One, and Arena.
Minecraft had some major announcements including The Friendly Update which will allow players to connect to each others worlds no matter the device they use. Texture packs are also coming to mobile along with Add Ons being released for PC and mobile this fall with the consoles to follow next year.
Do you like customization?! Well Microsoft has your back, as you can go to xbox.com/designlab and design your own Xbox One controller. $79.99 gets you a customized controller and $89.99 gets you a customized controller with your name engraved.
Inside, the next game from the creators of Limbo will be releasing on June 29th, 2016. Limbo is also available for free right now on the Xbox store.
ID@Xbox made a huge showing this year with a video of multiple games coming to Xbox One.
We Happy Few is coming first to console for Xbox One and will be available via the Xbox Game Preview program starting July 26th.
Fans of The Witcher 3 will be very excited to hear that Gwent, the incredibly popular in game card game will be getting a stand alone experience. A full blown game, complete with multiplayer and a monumental single player campaign. Users can go to playgwent.com and register for the closed beta on Xbox One and PC right now! The game will be releasing this September
Tekken 7 is officially coming to Xbox One! Coming in Early 2017, Tekken 7 is looking to be an incredible new entry in this visceral fighting game franchise. As an added bonus, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is now available for free via the Xbox One Backwards Compatible program.
Although it had been leaked previously, Dead Rising 4 is real and is coming Holiday 2016!
Scalebound was next up on the main stage, this time with a boss battle multiplayer gameplay trailer.
Sea of Thieves is looking more and more incredible as time passes. Let's hope it lives up to Rare's standards.
State of Decay 2 looks to expand upon the original premise of all out zombie warfare with friends and enemies alike. The game will be releasing in 2017.
Halo Wars 2 made an appearance and will be releasing on February 21st, 2017. There is currently an open beta that is running all week long! You can download this for free via the Xbox store.
To end the conference, Microsoft didn't hold back any punches. Instead they announced another brand new Xbox One console code named, Project Scorpio. Project Scorpio will have six teraflops of GPU power, an 8 core CPU, true 4K visuals with no compromise and true VR with no compromise. Also, all Xbox One games and accessories will work with any and all of the members of the Xbox family including the newly announced Xbox One S and Project Scorpio.
