I am going to let you, the reader, find out my exact emotions throughout this conference. Let’s just get to it.
HOLY SHIT! Ubisoft did NOT open their press conference with a Just Dance routine! Instead, they dazzled with a medley from the Assassin’s Creed Symphony. Speaking of which, the Assassin’s Creed Symphony is going on a world tour, so that is cool.
To kick off the press conference with a bang, first up was an alpha gameplay presentation of Watch Dogs Legion where the mechanic of playing as multiple characters was shown along with the different types of play styles allowed. Apparently you can recruit and play as ‘anyone‘ within the game. Who knows? Maybe Ubisoft is crazy enough to make this happen. Watch Dogs Legion releases on March 6th, 2020.
Alright Ubisoft, you had me going there. You made me believe this conference was not going to be cringe inducing. Turns out I was fooled… Potentially. Looks like a new Apple TV+ exclusive television show called Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet is coming soon. This is brought to you by some of the stars from It’s Always Sunny. It is in partnership with Ubisoft. That is why it is in this conference. Yeah, I still think this was a bad idea.
Next up was a little trailer for the new season of Rainbow Six Siege - Operation Phantom Sight highlighting one of the new operators. The season begins tomorrow.
You know what Brawlhalla needed? Adventure Time characters. Well it looks like the game is getting exactly that. The update includes new characters, a new mode, and a new stage. It is all available today, for free.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint had a few more things to share including the following:
Beta signup is live today
AI teammates are coming back
Beta will be live on September 5th, 2019
New community sharing program called Ghost Recon Delta Company
A little terminator tease
It wouldn’t be an E3 press conference without yet ANOTHER mobile game announcement. This time it is Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad. Being touted as a mobile RPG, it features multiple characters from many different Ubisoft Tom Clancy games.
Dammit Ubisoft. You had me going for a minute there. I thought maybe once, just ONCE, we wouldn’t get a Just Dance routine. Well I was wrong. The 10th anniversary of Just Dance releases in November. Maybe next year my dreams will come true. Probably not though. This is Ubisoft we are talking about.
For Honor got a little spotlight with a brand new event titled Shadows of Hitokiri that is actually available right now until June 27th.
In a pretty big surprise, a brand new Rainbow Six game has been announced. It is Rainbow Six: Quarantine and will be focused on a PvE cooperative experience. Rainbow Six: Quarantine will release sometime in 2020.
Did you know that Division 2 is still a thing? Well Ubisoft definitely wanted you to know as they laid out the rest of their plans for 2019, including episodes one through three, a free play week from June 13th-16th, and even a fucking movie that is coming to Netflix.
The rumors were true, Ubisoft is getting into the subscription games service with Uplay+. This will function the same as EA Origin Access Premier. In other words, here is what is included:
PC only subscription service
Early and full access to premium editions of games
100+ games and growing
Program will be available within Google Stadia in 2020
You can sign up now to play free for the month of September
Price is $14.99/month
How about a couple more brand new game announcements to end the conference? First up was Roller Champions. You can download the pre-alpha E3 gameplay demo right now on Uplay to give the game a shot.
Finally, Ubisoft unveiled Gods and Monsters, which is made by the same team that created Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The game will release on February 25th, 2020.
That’s it! That was the conf- wait. Where was Beyond Good and Evil 2? Seriously. Where the fuck was Beyond Good and Evil 2? Come on Ubisoft. Come the fuck on. That was really it. At least Watch Dogs Legion looked cool. Make sure to keep it locked here for all the E3 2019 press conference recaps.
