Nintendo E3 2019 Press Conference Recap

We made it! The final press conference of E3 2019 and let’s just get this out of the way first and foremost, Metroid was nowhere to be found. No, Super Nintendo games are not coming to Nintendo Switch Online. No, there were not any new hardware announcements. With that said, Nintendo had some things to show. Some great, some not so great. Some downright terrible. Let’s see what they had to offer.

Nintendo opened their show with a cinematic trailer for the Hero of Light from Dragon Quest coming to Super Smash Bros Ultimate. This is a collaboration with Dragon Quest XI and will be coming later this summer.

Speaking of Dragon Quest, that long fucking name that I already typed out within the Square Enix recap, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age is coming to the Nintendo Switch on September 27th, 2019. Here is a new trailer.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 looks pretty neat with an all new cooperative mode and gameplay breakdown trailer. The game is slated to release later this year.

Did you know that The Dark Crystal is getting a new movie on Netflix? Well there is a tie-in tactics game coming titled The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics and it will also be releasing later this year. It looks ‘meh’.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (the remake) is coming to the Nintendo Switch on September 20th, 2019 and we got a new gameplay trailer showing off what we can expect within this adventure.

In a little bit of a surprise announcement, not only is Trials of Mana coming stateside but the Collection of Mana, which contains the original three Mana games is coming to the Switch as well. Trials of Mana releases in 2020 while the Collection of Mana is actually available TODAY!

From the apparent leak, it is true. The Witcher 3 Complete Edition is coming to the Switch later this year. I can only imagine this game is going to look like someone rubbed Vaseline all over the lens. But hey! If you have not had the opportunity to play this remarkable games, now you can.

Fire Emblem Three Houses got a cinematic trailer which is surprising due to the game releasing on July 26th, 2019. No gameplay? I mean, we know what we are getting. It is a Fire Emblem game for fucks sake.

Nintendo showed a ‘trailer’ of two people in a haunted house, playing the original Resident Evil on the Switch, This was to promote the releases of Resident Evil 5 and 6 on Switch later this Fall. What a disaster.

No More Heroes 3 is a thing and it is coming out sometime in 2020. Travis Takedown is BACK.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. What the fuck was THAT Konami? Contra: Rogue Corps? What a dumpster fire looking game that is. It releases on September 24th, 2019. What you SHOULD care about is the Contra Anniversary Collection that releases TODAY on Switch.

Daemon X Machina got a slick gameplay trailer and a release date of September 13th, 2019.

Who asked for this? Panzer Dragoon is coming to the Switch sometime in Winter 2019.

While Pokemon Sword and Shield already had its own Nintendo Direct, there was still a little more information to share such as the functionality of the Pokemon GO Plus and what to expect on the E3 show floor. The games release on November 15, 2019.

Astral Chain looks like it could be something fun. The game releases on August 30th, 2019.

Empire of Sin is an isometric top down mafia shooter and releases sometime in Spring 2020. It looks rad.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 got a new gameplay trailer along with some expansion pass details. This Switch exclusive releases on July 19th, 2019 while the expansion pass is coming in the Fall of 2019. I really want to play a demo of this game. Everything that I have seen has turned me off but I love the premise of a Diablo style game with Marvel characters. I also enjoyed the first game in the franchise. We will have to wait and see.

Cadence of Hyrule, the hybrid of Crypt of the Necrodancer gameplay and The Legend of Zelda assets, is coming on June 13th, 2019. THAT IS SO SOON! The gameplay trailer looks promising as well.

Oh here we go. Mario and Sonic at the Tokyo Olympic Games is coming to Switch in November 2019.

We finally got some gameplay for the next Animal Crossing game along with the full title and release date! Animal Crossing New Horizons will release a little later than intended, on March 20th, 2020. Crafting anyone?
